2010...What Happened?!

Omg how quick has this year gone by?! I swear, I can still remember January! So, hows the year been for everyone?

As everyone else is doing a best beauty finds of the year, I will too!

I started this year off with the worst skin ever possible. I mean cystic acne, red, angry, swollen, painful. My face used to hurt, and I used to wonder if it would ever clear up. It was the worst breakout of my life! I then went onto Roaccutane, and it was my saviour. I have finished the year with clear skin, better than it's ever looked, well since I was a baby! I wish we could keep that same soft, clear dewy skin all our lives...

Unfortunately, the only side affect I had from the medicine was hair loss. During the medicine because my hair wouldn't get greasy, I washed it like once a week and it grew gorgeously long and thick...This all went :( and I had to chop my hair off. This was devastating for me. Although I'm used to the short hair now, I just remember hating it when I had it done. I felt so ugly lol! I still miss the length, I can't just leave my hair natural anymore, as it's a frizz-bomb, but I guess it doesn't take long to do anymore. My hair is slowly starting to grow back and the loss is subsiding, but its still there. Hopefully by this time next year, I'll have long, thick hair again :)

My fave new makeup products of 2010 were from the Armarni makeup range. The foundation and mascara are the only 2 items I've purchased so far, my friend purchased the loose powder as well, put that on top of the Luminous Silk and your skin is gorgeously flawless and glowy. I wouldn't ever be able to go back to Mac now. I just wish there was somewhere that sold Armarni in Leicester as I'm a bit weary of buying makeup online as I'm worried about buying the wrong colour. Maybe 2011 will bring Armarni makeup to Leicester...!

With hair products this year, nothing has really stood out. I guess I was in love with Garlic shampoo as it really helped my hair grow, but it stopped working after a while or maybe that was the hair loss...Not sure! Anyways, if I wasn't going through the hair loss, I would've kept using it. It is meant for hairloss, but it didn't do anything for me. Nevermind. Nioxin products have beeen good to give volume, so if your hair is fine, try the products as they really do build volume. Overall, the only product that is yet again at the top for me is Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, and this year I tried the Extreme which was great.

Skincare...This year I tried Creme De La Mer. Was it worth the £100?? Naah! I just don't understand what it does?! Seriously, what on earth did I pay £100 for? To begin with, the first week or 2, it gives a glow to your skin and then I think your skin gets used to it I think and then nothing....! I'm still using it, but in conjunction with Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Now, this product, I like. It has really started clearing my skin of any redness and when you wake up your skin is really nice and clear. Just don't put it on your eyes as you will wake up with puffy eyes.

I would do a body post, but I don't really do anything lol! Just shower and baby oil. I guess baby oil could be the product of 2010?!? I did enjoy Bikram Yoga though, so that could be another 'product'?

On a personal note, I got a new job woohoo :D This was the highlight of my year as I hated my old job.

Let me know what products you loved this year...What should I try out in 2011???

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Scrub Your Nose

Hey Guys,

How is everyone? Today was back to work, I was working from home but waking up early was a killer! Cant wait for the next batch of holidays. Dreading it when New Years is over and theres nothing to look forward to...

So, in a previous post I mentioned a new face scrub I was loving - it is Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose In It!!

I love that name lol! I got this in one of the pre-xmas offers Boots had, it was this huge bag/box thing worth £60 that I picked up for £25...Bargain or what?! There were loads of products in it...but I won't go on about it as you cant get it anymore haha!

Onto the scrub, which is also a 3 minute mask. Its a blue minty smelling scrub which has tiny grains that really scrub. It's got fruit acids in to ensure further exfoliation. Once you've used it as a scrub or mask, your skin is a soft as a feather. Gorgeous, really nice. I had a spot on my chin that just wasn't budging, and using this scrub has dried it up:) What I will say is that sensitive skin may find it a little harsh. My skin is now slowly going back to normal, with oil returning, so it's not as sensitive anymore. I can imagine my Accutane skin not being able to take this, as it stings a bit and can feel a little harsh. I guess that's why its not an everyday product...!

I just went on to the Boots website now and saw there are 49 reviews going on about how amazing the product was for them. You can read the reviews here. Overall, I would recommend the product for problem skin that isn't too sensitive.

On to other news, I just ordered these shoes on boohoo.com for £10! If you like them, go pick up a pair...£10!! They're in black, grey or maroon/red. It's called the Nancy Perforated Stud Backless Heels.

Also, hqhair.com are offering 30% off everything, just enter SALETIME in the coupon box at check-out. I just picked up another Elasticizer :)

Now this is what I call a good sale item...
Hope everyone is enjoying their time off...I know I am!! If you have any offers/sale picks, let us know!!

Boxing day haul...

A bit disappointing really...
I woke up at 9am to get to the sales for 10am, only to find out Boots opens at 10:30, so instead of waiting in the queue we popped into Sport Direct to keep warm as it was the only shop open. To be honest, I've never been into one, just online for cheap tracksuit bottoms for the gym. I just have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I picked up 2 t-shirts, a pair of slippers, a mug and my mum a sports bra and it was only £20!

Here's the mug :D
Anyways, now on to the Boots stuff...I was extremely disappointed with Boots this year...Bought hardly anything. There just wasn't anything good out there. It kinda put me off shopping...haha!

Heres the pics:
This is inside...
 This.

Yep, that's it!! I'll be going into town tomorrow so lets see what I pick up then. Highlight of my day was buying a electric blanket & Memory foam pillows from Tesco...Yes, I am an old lady. I really want to go to the Harrods sale...One day I will!

Anyways, let me know what you thought of the sales, what did you you get??

Hello...

Happy Christmas to all those who celebrate, hope you're having an amazing day and got all the gifts you wanted and eating loads too!!

I'm watching Blush - Search for the next great Make up Artist. I've never seen it before, but it's really good. Download it when you get the chance! Is it just me, or has xmas tv been really poor this year? There isn't anything on that I am looking forward to watching. Just the Xmas special Eastenders, even then they aren't doing 2 30 mins episodes, but an hour long special. I prefer the 2 episodes to keep the suspense going!

So, I know I haven't updated my blog lately, I've just been feeling blah what with being sick, busy with work and boy issues which have left me drained. I do have a few products I want to update you on though, including a scrub/mask and a beauty treatment I've been having done for the past few weeks. I'll try to update over the holidays, as I'm off now till 4th Jan.

To leave on a positive note, I got my iPhone 4 woohoo :D So happy!

Anyways, hope everyone has an amazing day and eats loads!!

Emu Oil

Hi Guys!

How has everyone been? I've been sick :-( I even had to miss our Xmas party, which to be honest I'm not too fussed about lol! I think I'll return my outfit though, it was this dress that I'm sure Cher Lloyd wore on Xfactor. I was going to team it up with black and gold accessories. Then black and gold smokey eyes with Arabic liner.

Anyways, back to the Emu Oil. Ok, when I purchased it I thought I'd be ok using it as I just wouldn't think about it. But it's fat from an Emu bird! Then I put it in perspective, it's not like I'm a vegetarian! Anyways, I wont go into how it's made etc...I haven't even researched it, I don't want to.

What does it do?
Research shows that Emu oil has been used for thousands of years as a natural medicine by the Aborigines of Australia. It was used for Arthritis pain relief, to heal wounds, burns, sunburns, and to reduce the pain, itch & swelling of insect bites and stings. It's high in vitamin e, contains both Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids,  and is an excellent anti-inflamatory. However, now a days, Emu oil is now known for so much more. Wrinkles, hair loss and growth, acne scarring, stretch marks, sore muscles, rheumatism, headaches, gum disease, age spots etc...more can be found listed on this site.

I bought it for hair loss, and have been using it for the past few weeks. I don't use it every day, just once or twice a week as a conditioning treatment. I mix it with some olive oil as it's quite a thick oil and I don't want to use too much of it. I haven't seen a difference in hair loss in all honesty, maybe because I'm meant to be using it more often?! Not sure. When I do use it, my hair looks thicker, softer and a lot shinier. However, I can get the same sort of results with my Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, which is about £15 cheaper & not made from a bird.

So, would I buy it again? I don't think so. The fact that it's the fat from a bird puts me off even using it! It doesn't really give the benefits that warrant me spending like £40 for a small bottle of oil. I think my hair loss is just random as it'll fall for a week then not fall for about 2 weeks. I don't think anything topical is really going to make a difference...not sure what will! However, Emu Oil isn't a product for me.

Hope this review helped....It's not the best really, is it?! Lol!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

My new boots :D

Hey  Guys,

I went shopping in Birmingham on Thursday, and picked up a few things.

Forever 21 was huge, but the actual merchandise didn't live up to my expectations. When I went to the F21 stores in Dubai, no matter which mall I was in I came back with something. Having said that, I did buy 2 dresses, a coat and a tshirt...Lol! Just, I expected more!

Anyways, my best buy of the day were these boots from River Island. They were £74.99, but I had my vouchers so paid £34.99 :D
The pics not that clear as I have no idea where I've put my camera! I'm not usually a fan of studded things, but love these :D

Whats been your fave purchase recently?

My new foundation love is...

Yet another Giorgio Armarni foundation. This time its Lasting Silk UV foundation. Now, the website says that it leaves a matte finish, but nope. It's got glitter particles in, not like Photoready, but fine-milled and not obvious like it at all. It leaves your skin looking glowy and gorgeous. It's water based too, so it's really light in texture, and  gives a good coverage.

As it's Christmas, the Armarni packaging is vamped up too. The lid is gorgeous, covered in Swarovski crystals, and the bag is a pretty red one.

I know I've just bought the No.7 Instant Radiance one, which might I add I still love but it's ok, I'll alternate them. One additional thing, I wore the Instant Radiance to a Bikram Yoga class and it lasted all class. That is amazing. For those of you who don't know what Bikram Yoga is, it's basically 1.5hours of doing yoga in a hot room. It's tough stuff, but really good for clearing the toxins out, and the women in there who have been doing it for a while, their bodies are fricking amazing! If you want to know more, let me know and I'll do a post based on the information pack they gave me when I joined and my opinion of it.

Finally, let me just show you this coat I got from Asda for only £35. I love it so much!
My next post is going to be on Emu Oil and it's benefits.

Hope you guys are enjoying the snow, I love it but hate that I cant go out due to being too scared to drive in it!

I'm back!

Hey Guys!

Hope everyone is well?

After last weeks depressing post, I feel a lot better, more positive and happier :D

I thought I would do a pot of random beauty buys over the past few weeks...!

It was Eid on Tuesday, and I know I usually do an EOTD, but all I did was use gunmetal and sin mixed together from the Urban Decay Naked palette, with Virgin as a highlight. Black liner and mascara. A very nice, and easy smokey eye! Unfortunately, it was a very busy day, so I've not got any pics!

Oh just a side note, it was our team day on Thursday and it was amazing fun! We did Go-Karting at lunch, but then in the afternoon we build huge towers out of chocolate and tried to knock each others down. So much fun! Anyways, it was at a car museum, and Penelope Pitstop's limo was there...How cool? It was pink with gold glitter. There were also a number of Aston Martins, including a bullet holed, beaten up one used in James Bond!

So, on to my buys...

My Armarni foundation is about to run out, and until I get a chance to go into a Selfridges or Harrods or order it online I bought No.7 Instant Radiance. I'm all about the JLO Glow, and this foundation gives you a glow. I've only worn it once, so can't really do a proper review on it, but on the day I did, it was good!

Boots are currently doing half price perfumes, and I saw Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy, and I bought it! It's very fruity, yet has an edge. I love it...It is so becoming my new everyday perfume!

I finally got Mac Strobe cream, and I just have to say I love it so much! So much so, I use it everyday! It's really good, makes your skin look alive and well! So nice, mixed with foundation or just on its own. I definitely recommend this.

For my final purchase, you might be offended by it...It's Emu Oil. Basically, it's oil derived from the fat of an Emu bird. This stuff is meant to be amazing for hair and skin. I haven't used it on my skin, but it is really moisturising on the hair and gives it such a nice shine. I don't want to say too much about it as I want to do a proper post on it with background info and everything!

I know this is a random post, and if you have any questions about any of the products, just ask me and I'll let you know!

Shopping and Pain...

Hey Guys,

How has everyone been? I know I haven't posted for a while, but I've been going through some stuff which has just been upsetting...Boys! I won't go into the details as it's not that kinda blog...but I'm feeling a lot better now.

So, that made me think why is it when we're upset we shop? Seriously, over the last week I've spent so much and it was all to make me feel better. Whilst I was buying, I felt loads better, but as soon as I got home that pain came back :-( It's that short -lived rush of happiness you get...I love the quote from Confessions of a Shopaholic where she says
"When I shop the world gets better, the world is better; and then it's not anymore and I have to do it again..."

Then if we cant or don't shop, we eat...This in turn makes us feel bad as we wont eat healthy things like cucumber sticks (well some may, I don't!), but we eat chocolate and cupcakes....!! We'll eat it, then wish we hadn't...Vicious circle!!

Yesterday, I went for my first pedicure...It was good, just sitting there, relaxing and listening to the pan pipe music, and after it thought I feel so relaxed and so much better. After a simple pedicure...It wasn't even all that. I prefer facials! However, that hour of just relaxing, really made a world of difference. Which led me to think, forget shopping, eating, crying...and all that bad stuff, just pamper yourself haha!! This worked out great till I got an email from an ex (There are only 2 guys...lol!) and I was back to square one! Good job I have a facial booked tomorrow for Eid haha!!

Sometimes talking it over and over just doesn't help, and you need other things to make yourself feel better. Also, I don't know about you, but I end up feeling like a broken record "why..." blah blah...!! Plus, personally I'm not one of these people who likes to admit they're sad or upset, I like to just put on a strong front, pretend I'm fine and get on with it.

So, what do you guys do to cheer yourselves up?? What kind of person are you when you get upset?

Let me know :D

Lazy Sunday waffle

Hey Guys,

How was everyones weekend?

This has been such a hectic week, so I really needed the extra hour today. However, I woke up at 7:50am, which would've been 8:50am I guess but I wanted to wake up at 12 or something. I ended up going to town to return some bits, and ended up buying a dress :-s

On Monday I was in 5 different places in one day, Leicester, Oxford, Staines, London, Windsor...!
Tuesday back to Leicester, and had Wednesday off :D Then Thurs and Friday I had a course in Milton Keynes. Then yesterday I went to Westfields in London (did you know there was one in Derby too?!) for some shopping. I'm going to do a haul post soon, as I got a few nice pieces for winter.

So, I caught up on X-factor this morning, as I was up so early! It was really not the best...I liked Cher's song the best, but I agree with Simon, Cheryl is turning her into herself! Being a huge MJ fan, I was expecting Thriller to be in there, but I hated Aidan's version! What does everyone else think? I was expecting it to pick up, but it never did! It's such a iconic dance song, and his version was dull.

I've got the Phyto Hair growth serums, but used it once and my hair started shedding a bit again, so I'm a bit unsure as to whether I should carry on using it or not. I might just give it to my mum to use. I'll let you know how she gets on with it.

Oh, it was my friends birthday and I got her a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet with some charms, which is really cute. However, they have a new perfume out called Rose Charm and I love the smell. It's gorgeous. Its my next perfume purchase. If you get the chance, smell it. It's not anything different, or special but it's really nice. I also bought us both a Mac Strobe Cream as it's meant to be really good with foundation. Has anyone got it? What else can I do with it other than mix it with my foundation? Any random tips? I used it today, and really liked how glowy my foundation looked with it. I got it in the pump version, rather than the tube - it's much easier.

Ok, I think I've waffled too much! I'll put up a haul post either today or tomorrow!

Happy Halloween everyone!!

Granola Bars

So, following on from my health kick post, I've made some granola bars. I had the day off as I had my final
Accutane hospital appointment. Oh I'm officially of that stuff, but the nurse prescribed me some Retin-A. Has anyone used that?
Anyways, back to the granola bars, so I went to Asda and bought all the ingredients. Some nuts, dried fruits, maple syrup, seeds and oats.
I amended the recipe, as I said I would. I added ground ginger, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and half maple syrup with half manukka honey.

The important question is, are they nice? Urrrmmm...Yeah, they are for what they are. They're nutty and oaty. I wish I hadn't put the fruit in though, as I don't like the taste of them (I added strawberry and mango). I don't think they're going to make me want to eat breakfast though, and they were quite expensive to make! All the above costed me £10. However, it is for a lot of bars, not just 1 I guess....! My mum loved them, as she loves all those tastes, but I just don't!

(Pardon the blurry photo!)

Would I make them again? No! I prefer the Special K bars, so I'd rather just pay for them.

Let me know if you guys try it out!

Fashion Street, London. E1

Last night we went for some food on Brick Lane. I've never been there, but have read the book, which is brilliant by the way if you haven't read it (get it cheap here if you're interested). Anyways, it a road packed full of Asian food. It's so lively and vibrant and we got a meal for £10 each with the first drink free! To get there you just take the tube to Liverpool Street, and it's like a 5minute walk through a few alley ways. It was quite the opposite of Knightsbridge and Harrods lol!!

Anyways, on the way we went through a street called Fashion Street. How cool is that?!

It's also very near The Gherkin...Can you see it in the background?!

I get excited everytime I go to a new place in London...Yes, I am that sad!! I love London though, as theres so much to do and see.

Next on our list is Notting Hill and then Camden. Where else would you recommend for me to explore? Which is your fave part of London?

Health Kick

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well?

I've been so bad with food for the past few weeks, and have barely gone to the gym. I am now feeling it :-s
I checked, and I haven't put on any weight, thank god but I need to go back to the working out and healthy eating.
I am thinking of making some breakfast/cereal bars, as I never eat breakfast which is something I want to change. I've have found this recipe, to which I've made some  a lot of changes to.

65g low fat margarine - I'll use low fat peanut butter as a binder instead.
160ml runny acacia blossom (or similar) honey - I always use Manukka Honey - It's much better for you.
50g brown sugar - I think I'll leave this out, or just add a sprinkling.
130g wholemeal flour
200g rolled oats
100g sunflower seeds
160g chopped dried apricots, dates and raisins mixed - Just the dates for me!
50g chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)
25g sesame seeds - No thanks! I want to try linseed's as they're meant to be really good for you. Sesame seeds are so full of oil and quite fatty. Plus, I'm not a fan.

Method (If you want to make the original recipe haha!)
In a small saucepan melt the margarine over a low heat. Add the honey and sugar, stir and bring to the boil. Simmer for five minutes then remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.
In a large bowl combine the rolled oats, flour, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, nuts and sesame seeds. Gradually stir in the sugar mixture and firmly press into a greased baking dish about 25cm x 18cm. Bake at 350F/180C/Gas Mk 4 for 25 minutes or until golden.
Leave to cool and cut into bars.

I'm just going to put it all in a bowl, mix it up and leave it to set. Hope it works :-s I'll keep you posted! Has anyone got any other good recipes? Or low fat recipes that would keep me full?

When I need to motivate myself to go to the gym, I do a number of things:
1) Watch Music channels, they're all so slim and toned...Motivation!
2) Look at clothes you want to wear, but cant!
3) Think about how good you will look and feel afterwards.
4) Drink some green tea (or coffee as I sometimes do :-s) half an hour before, and it will perk you up. Another thing is diet coke, I know it's not healthy but it really perks me up.
Also, keep hydrated through the day (with water!) so that you don't become lethargic by the end of the day if you go after work like myself.
5) If you're feeling sleepy/tired, take some multi-vitamins + iron. Chances are, you could be lacking in something.
6) Doing fun classes. I really enjoy Pilates & Power Plate.
7) Lots of good music...download some good stuff so that you look forward to listening to it.

Have you got any tips on getting yourself to the gym? Mine are all pretty shallow lol!
I've just motivated myself to go ....

Have a great Sunday :D

The best carrot cake in the world

I was on my way to lunch with my friend and was speaking to a friend on the phone. I mentioned to him that we were going to Druckers, and he said I had to try the carrot cake. I'm not a huge fan of the stuff, it's nice...but not amazing. However, I saw it and bought it...and it was good times :D If you see a Druckers anywhere, try the carrot cake, with the cream cheese frosting...Yumm...I want some more...!
Here's the pic I sent to him to show him what he was missing out on...lol!

Meet my Nioxin Family

After reading up on load and loads (and loads) of hair loss sites, products, remedies...I remembered I was watching this girl on YouTube who was doing a Roaccutane diary, and she mentioned that Nioxin shampoo helped her. So, of course being the person that I am, I went searching for it online and have slowly ended up with 5 products.
Firstly, I bought the Scalp Therapy, which is the conditioner, follicle booster and Scalp activator (freebie). To be honest, I thought I was buying shampoo, and not conditioner as I had stopped using conditioner after I realised it was making my hair fall more, as explain in this post. I didn't realise till I was in the bath, hair wet and it came out thick...I thought huh?! Looked at the bottle and it said conditioner. I ended up using it in conjunction with my garlic shampoo...Double up on the hair loss ingredients right?! The conditioner has that nice menthol tingling sensation, like those Heads and Shoulders. Anyways, after the shampooing and conditioning etc...you put on the follicle booster on the most effected areas. How weird is it that the hair on my left hand side is not as bad as my right?! After that, you spray on the activator. A lot of products...but what they heck?! The scalp activator is meant to make your scalp red and a bit uncomfortable for a bit, and honestly it doesn't last long and then you forget its there. I then just put on a heat protection and then do my usual styling business.
I used the shampoo for the first time today, and I like it...I mean it doesn't do anything, no tingling or anything and washed out my oil and elasticizer out beautifully clean. With this I got a free thickening gel so I used that with all the other stuff mentioned above.
I've just straightened my hair and I have to say I'm impressed, you would not be able to tell that I lost about 30% of my hair. On a hair loss front, since chopping it, and starting Nioxin I probably lose around 10 hairs a day...which is amazing. Also, I know I hate it and all that, but short hair is so easy - Wash, leave it and blast with the hair dryer and I'm done - no need to straighten!
I did try taking pics of my hair, but it's too dull as it's rainy and gloomy here in Leicester and you couldn't really tell that well.
Here's my little family of hair products:
So, do I recommend it? So far, yes...But I'll use it for another 2 weeks or so and get back to you! If you decide to buy it, I got my conditioner and scalp products from lookfantastic.com and the shampoo from HQHair.com.
Oh I've also ordered Phyto Hair Growth Serum treatment, which is meant to be amazing for hair growth, so I'll keep you posted as to when it comes, and if it works for me :)

Have a great weekend....Even in this weather!

Beauty gone wrong...

I was looking at photos of Kim Kardashians 30th birthday, and couldn't help but notice how different she looks after her botox. I've been watching the new series of Kardashians online (love it!), and saw her face after she had it done, it was like someone had smacked her in the face. The thing is, she's so beautiful, it's just shocking that she would think she needed botox. She did not need it.

Before:
After:
I accept that she's probably a lot younger in the before pic, but you can see the botox-ness in the second pic. She didn't need it.

Anyways, so this got me thinking, what stupid things do we do to make us feel more beautiful, when in actual fact has an adverse reaction, or we dont even need it? For example with me, the Roaccutane. I heard so many horror stories about it, but chose to ignore them, thinking it wont happen to me. Appreciate what it did for my skin, but what it did to my hair that I had been growing for years is unforgivable. I loved my hair, and now that it's gone, my self confidence has gone with it...! I wish I'd researched it more, just as I'm sure Kim Kardashian wishes she didn't do the botox. I love that I can use her as a role model, as she's still hott! Then again, I guess we can thank god we didn't do anything as drastic as this:

Have you done anything that you thought would make you feel better, but instead made you feel/look worse?? What did you do to make yourself feel better? I think I need to bring some positivity to my blog!!

End of the week waffle

This is going to be a bit of a ramble post, like I tend to do when I can't sleep at night. Extremely therapeutic, I think!

I just watched the first two episodes of The Only Way is Essex and it's a Hills wannabe. Omg they make the cast of The Hills and The City look Oscar worthy! Lauren is so annoying, I swear...I just want to smack her! Her attitude towards Mark is mad...Who starts shouting and swearing in the middle of a club?! I wish her name wasn't Lauren as it makes me think of Lauren Conrad, who she so is not. Then you have Amy, oh good god...Seriously, no words!! Having said all that, I love it and am going to keep on watching it. I'm such a sucker for bad TV!! Are you guys watching it? What do you think?

I'm getting my hair chopped off tomorrow. I posted the pic of Jessica Simpson the other day, you can find it here. However, since then I watched Friends and loved Rachel's bob cut...I want a mixture of those 2 cuts.
I really like her cut here, as it's a bob but not as short...I'm taking this to the hairdressers and just going to do it. My hair still hasn't stopped shedding so may as well chop the bitches off right?! It's really doing my head in. I've ordered Nioxin, so lets see if that does anything if that does anything. Doubt it, but someone on YouTube said that it helped their hair, and I am desperate. One of the guys at work also said rubbing lemon on, washing your hair and then putting on black seed oil made his hair grow back...So I'm doing that when I wash my hair next. Anyways, everyone pray for my hair please...Lol!

I've been so bad this week, Pizza Hut twice....!! So bad! Although, I've been going to the gym...However, don't know if that'll make a diff with like 10,000cals for lunch. I didn't have the cookie dough though, and that's the best thing Pizza Hut do. I wasn't even hungry today...! Why do we do that?!

Oh, I was looking at one of the fashion blogs...I can't remember which one now but she mentioned a site I'd never heard of - http://www.inlovewithfashion.com/ and love some of the stuff on there. I swear, if they had paypal I would've spent loads this evening, I just didn't have the energy to get up and go get my handbag out of my car boot! I'll get some stuff tomorrow. I also need my winter coat, has anyone seen any nice ones around? I'm thinking I want a cape style one. Have you got yours yet? Which one did you buy?

Urm...Do I have anything else to waffle about...Hhmmm...!! I don't think so!

I'll do a post tomorrow of my hair, if it comes out nice that is!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Creme De La Mer...Week One

Hi Guys,

I thought I would do a one week review of the cream as I have already seen really good results with it!

Firstly, let me start by explaining how I use it. When you purchase it, the sales assistant explains how to use it. Basically, you take a tiny bit, rub it with your fingertips so that the cleam becomes clear and then you pat it into your skin. I use this day and night. Although, I still have a pot of Liz Earlse Superskin, so I'm thinking of using that up in the day now.

After the first night that I used it, I noticed a difference. When I woke up my skin was so soft, it was like a babys bottom! So soft...Esp after Accutane which left my skin dry and dull. After a few more nights, my skin became softer, glowier and the scars are diminishing. I was also worried that because I have come off the Accutane, that I would get spots as this cream is quite thick. Nope :) In fact its clearing my spots that Accutane left. So far, after just one week I need less foundation, and my skin is looking better than it ever has. There isn't any redness, and I think my skin colour has gotten lighter...Although this could just be the regenration effect of this cream! This could be a expensive version of Fair & Lovely haha...!!

All in All...Totally worth the £92 :D

I will do another update in a month.

Cupcakes :D

We had a bake-off at work for Children In Need...As you can imagine, it was good times! One of the girls made a Chocolate and Peanut butter cheesecake (yummmm!) it was a Nigella recipe which can be found here. I want more...I love cheesecake!
Anyways, thought I'd show you my cupcakes which came in second to the cheesecake. I will accept this defeat as it was so good!

I love decorating cakes, it's so much fun! I made some last month too for Eid that you can see here.

Have a great weekend :)

The Salt Water Cleanse

Well, I spoke to a trichologist about my hair and to be honest she wasn't insightful at all. My internet findings have been so much more informative.
This is what I've found out so far...
Post Accutane hair loss is a common side affect that for some reason they haven't put on the medication leaflet, nor did the nurse tell me. I wouldn't have taken it if I knew about this. So, I am extremely fumed. The good new is that it's not permanent, and your hair stops falling, and grows back once it's out of your system. Which led me to stop my cod liver oil as this has a really high % of Vitamin A ,and also my hair tablets just in case it had vitamin A in it.
Second thing I decided to do was a full body detox. Now, I didn't want to do like a full fasting, eat nothing detox. I can't even bear the thought of that to be honest, especially as I'm going to the gym. I checked out the Master Cleanse - you know the one that Beyonce did? Lemon, Cayenne Pepper and Maple Syrup. If you want full detail on how to do it, go to this site as it provides the recipe too. It's a no eating one, so not for me. Another part of the Master Cleanse is the Salt Water Cleanse. This intrigued me as it wasn't a no eating thing, but it clears you out. The saltwater flush works by moving through the body and breaking up fecal matter, which is then carried out of the body with the water. The salt and water don’t separate, and it has the same specific density as blood. The kidneys, therefore, can not collect the water, and the blood cannot collect the salt. The liquid will move through the body uninterrupted and clean toxins from the intestines as it moves through. It really cleans out the colon and all your digestive organs. I like this article as it explains it well.
You mix 1 quart of water (Around 1.4litres) 2 Teaspoons of pure, non iodised Sea Salt, and as an optional ingredient which I would suggest you use, a few squeezes of lemon or lime. The first time I did it, I mis-read and put 2 tablespoons :-s However, the saltier the better, so the tablespoon could be a good thing...
You warm the water so that its room temperature/ luke warm, add your salt and lemon, mix it, and my suggestion would be to down it. As a side note, I would suggest using filtered water as tap water has lots of chemicals in, and bottle water is sometimes worse than tap water. Just get a Brita filter jug for £10 and you're on your way.

I couldn't drink a whole quart, so I had about 2 pint glasses. You are supposed to do it first thing in the morning, and on an empty stomach. There are people online who do it in the evening, and I personally am not doing anything without coffee in my belly in the morning..! And it worked! OMG!! Lol!

You drink it, then about 20-30mins later, you feel it 'brewing' up in your tummy, and then you 'cleanse'.
Other things you can do to aid the process is, once you've drunk your quart you can lie down on your right side for 30mins so that the mixture can go into your small intestine. You can rub your belly to break up any fecal matters that are lodged in your tummy and wont come out! Also, the night before it's recommended to drink some laxative tea, I didn't do this, but I guess you could try it.

I've been doing it for 2 days now, and I have to say, I feel lighter. I think this is a great way of clearing out toxins in your body, and I think it'll be a great way of clearing any remainder of the medicine in my body.

After doing this for a week, people have said their skin looks clearer, they have more energy, they feel lighter and have lost weight. I'm excited for all the added benefits :-)

Let me know if you guys decide to try this...I would suggest it!

Who knew babies had this much choice?!

Well, my shedding has gone back to it's worse... I'll be bald at this rate...I pray to God that he doesn't make me bald!
So, I was thinking mild shampoo...What could be more milder than baby shampoo? I mean it doesn't even sting when it goes in the eyes right?! I initially went to pick up the Johnson's & Johnson's one, but then saw so many different brands. My gosh...I was actually standing there confused, not knowing what to buy. There are organic ones, designer ones, environmental ones, and the natural, but not organic ones...So much choice!
I ended up picking one by Pure Adore. They are:
  • hypoallergenic
  • natural & organic ingredients
  • affordable
  • cute looking
  • no sodium laureth sulphate
  • no parabens
  • no artificial fragrance
  • no artificial colouring
  • not tested on animals
  • vegetarian & vegan friendly
Pretty impressive hey?! The product I bought was the Shampoo & Body wash.

It includes loads of natural and organic extracts, including linden flower, angelica, horsetail, red clover, elder flower and passionflower. It smells really nice too.
So, does it work?
This was the first ever shampoo I have used without SLS and I was expecting it not to bubble up. It foams up nice and smooth. I had coconut oil in my hair, which is usually difficult to get out, but 2 washes and my hair was squeaky clean. Did my hair fall? Yes :-( But the shampoo, it liked it. Left my hair clean, and soft.

I've decided to go to see a Trichologist for my hair. I know its the roaccutane, but just on the off chance it's something else...I'm going to see one. Doing the google search, I only found one in Leicester. I'll call up on Monday.

Anyways, I'm off out...So have a great evening everyone :D

This should be a post about exfoliators, seeing this is generally a beauty blog but nope...It's about my amazing Michael Jackson Tshirt :) I got it from the Brand Alley clearance sale, but it's sold out now...Sorry!
It's so sparkly :D

Just to keep a bit of the beauty stuff, a good site with loads of recipes for a face exfoliator.

EOTN using the Naked Palette

My friend did the following look using the Naked Pallete using Gunmetal on the lid, Creep in the crease and then Zero eyeliner. I did the same look the week before but forgot to take pics, her is probably better than mine anyways!!

EOTN - Charity Event

I went to a charity event this evening, it was a dinner/fashion show. They're usually quite boring, but it's for the cause, and it's an outing, I guess. The charity was Rahma (mercy) which helps the people in Albania and Kosovo. It also helps a lot of orphans, which is something I think is a really important cause to support...Imagine being without any parents...These little kids, losing their parents to wars or illness. It's so sad.  :-(
Anyways, on to the more superficial thing of my EOTN...
I used the Naked palette (again!), and to think I was so dismissive of it when I got it.

Lid - Toasted.
Crease - Naked and Darkhorse
Highlight - Virgin
Top Liner - Zero and Hustle pressed on top to smudge it out.
Waterline - Sabaya black, I find Zero is too thick a formula for the waterline, and it wears of weirdly...It stays but goes all bitty :s
Mascara - Giorgio Armarni Eyes To Kill.

Hope you liked it!

Hair...Yeah, I'm obsessed with it!

I know I have done quite a few posts on hair recently, but I was so worried about my shedding.
Well, I think I have got it under control using the following products and techniques:
1) 1 Teaspoon of honey, 2 teaspoons of honey, a drizzle of olive oil. Mix it up until its combined, and put all over your scalp. Ensuring it covers the whole head. Then put the rest on the ends of your hair. Leave on as long as possible. I usually leave it on for about an hour or so. Then shampoo out.
2) Do no use conditioner. Ok, this sounds like really bad advice but after using the yoghurt concoction, I shampoo'd my hair and I had no fall out, however when I went to condition my hair the fall out was a massive amount. Then, the next time, I put it on just my ends, a little less fall-out but still quite a bit. So, I went off to buy leave in conditioner stuff. I already use the Aussie spray, however I wanted something a bit richer. I bought a Simple shampoo (because it sounds so kind, and I wanted to look after my scalp), John Fried Root booster (so they get stronger) and Aussie heat protecting cream/conditioner.
Using the shampoo, and the leave in stuff, my hair hasn't fallen at all...Ok just about 5 hairs which I guess is nothing. So, if you're experiencing hair loss, try this technique. By the way, if you read my previous post, no conditioner was my revelation!

3) Hair tablets: I bought Wellwoman Tricologic, which were EXPENSIVE! £34.99..For tablets. I was so desperate I bought them. You take 2-3 tablets a day, I started with 2 but after 2 days, I've increased it to 3. They're by the same guys who make Perfectil, so it's basically a Perfectil tablet, but with extra hair nutrients. I've been taking it for a week now, so can't really comment on extra hair growth or anything. I'll keep taking them though, and report back. However, could it be a coincidence that I have started them, and my hair loss has significantly stopped. However, that leaves me with the dilema...what is working!??!?!

Look at how huge each tablet is...I suggest if you decide to take these then have it with a very sweet drink, as you can taste it as soon as you put it in your mouth, and it is not nice!

So, with the above things I've been doing my hair has finally stopped falling. I'm a lot happier, but now I'm back to square one, and having to get the thickness back again. Oh well, I'll deal with that next...I think I already know what I'm going to do...Drastic measures and all that, but I'll leave that for another post...

Has anyone else had hair loss due to medication or anything other factors? What did you do?

Body Shapes

This is going to be a really quick post as I've just got back from the gym, so am sweaty, but before I wash my hair I wanted to do the yoghurt & honey thing - which really works :) However, I'm going to do another hair post later on tonight or tomorrow as I have new products, and I had a revelation...

I was talking to my friend today about bodyshapes. I always thought I was an hour-glass (not the sexy kind unfortunately!) , but I'm big/small/big. However, my friend said I'm big/small/small. I just don't know what I am, but googling it, I found this article where Trinny and Susannah spoke about 12 possible bodyshapes. I'm not any of them either...!! I think that I'll stick to hourglass...It's the closest to my shape.

What bodyshape are you? Does anyone else not come into a category!? How many categories are there...?!

Skin & Hair update

I wanted to do a blog post about hair, and as I'll be all over the place next week (Cardiff Monday & Tuesday, London Thursday & Friday) I thought let me do it now as it's just a lazy Sunday.

So, the Roaccutane hair shedding has started, and with a vengeance this time. It's so obvious, and everywhere I go I'm leaving hairs, and the hairs that come out in the bath...It makes me want to cry. I had got my hair to such a nice, thick, long state. It has been shedding so much so that I decided to come off the medication. I didn't want to carry on at the risk of going bald. I haven't been taking it for a week now, and I have a few new spots which is actually worrying...Does this mean I'll be getting spots again?! So, I have stopped using the Lush cleanser and have gone back to Clearasil deep clean and am using Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Now, this product is so good. It has really refined my skin, and it brings a glow too. It has started fading my scars a bit too. I am really impressed with it. It has even tightened up the skin on my neck and face. This isn't something I knew that I had, but now that I have seen the difference, obviously I've aged more than I realised?! The product has also started evening out my skin tone. I haven't seen such a huge difference to my skin in such a long time. For £38, and you only use about 3 drops for the whole face, it will last a long time. On day I feel my skin isn't looking it's best, I add a whole droppers worth, and wake up with clean and fresh skin. Did you see how I just did a review within a ramble?! Anyways, back to the ramble, I think I'll just dig out the panoxyl 10 and hopefully the spots will clear up.

Ok, now on to the hair. So, the shedding...So upsetting, even the garlic shampoo had made no difference. My mum was watching one of her Indian channels, and there are quite a few beauty tips shows. On one of them, the lady called up about hair loss and the lady recommended to use a mixture of yoghurt & honey. I tried this today, with a little bit of olive oil and I have to say, my hair fell considerably less. It's only when I put conditioner on did I see the hair loss. So, I've decided to carry on doing this and using conditioner only at the ends. Also, when I straightened it, I only did the ends, so the roots don't get damaged and fall out. Please everyone pray that I don't go bald lol! Oh, I've also started taking these. They're like by the same guys that make the Perfectil skin, hair and nails, but more for hair. It still has all the skin and nail nutrients in, but with added hair stuff. Took my first dose today, so will update after 2 weeks I think. For £34.99, they better work!

I think I've rambled on enough, so I'll stop now! If anyone has any tips for hair loss, then please do let me know...I'll try anything!!

Naked Palette look

Hey Guys,

So, I went out for my birthday  last night - Wagamamas & cookie dough at Pizza Hut...Good times :D They ended up making 2 cookie doughs but we asked for one to share, so we had a free one :D Couldn't eat it though!
Anyways, I did a smokey eye look with my palette with gunmetal on the lid and creep on the outer corner, virgin as a highlight, then with black liner all around. Unfortunately, my camera battery went, and I was so tired by the time I got home that I couldn't wait to take my makeup off and sleep, so no pics. However, my friend did a look with her palette and it was gorgeous - She used smog and half baked on the lid, creep on the outer corner and virgin as highlight. Then the black liner. Luckily, she remembered to take photos for me :D (iPhone camera!)
How gorgeous is this look?! I love it, and it looked so nice on her.

I know initially I was like yeah the palettes nice but not that special etc...but I've changed my mind! All the colours are gorgeous and with the pencils, you can really just take it anywhere, and it's so versatile. Ok, so I have most the colours here and there, but to have them all in one place is great! Plus, the packaging is so nice...Brown velvet with gold writing...Love it! Totally worth the £27. Plus the primer potion has the new and improved, bent wand. I'm glad I bought it now.

On another, totally non-beauty note, United won! Woohoo!! :D

Hope you enjoyed this look, even though it wasn't mine haha!!
